About the authors

A new edition of the most trusted Queensland senior mathematics resources for students and teachers with a proven teaching and learning formula, written by a team of authors with unrivalled expertise.

NEW in this edition

  • Enhanced support for Problem-Solving & Modelling Tasks (PSMTs): General, Methods and Specialist users are provided with step-by-step-instructions and video resources on how to complete a PSMT.
  • Carefully revised categorisation of Complex Familiar and Complex Unfamiliar questions: All questions follow the QCAA’s degree of difficulty categorisation and progress from Simple Familiar through Complex Familiar to Complex Unfamiliar within the exercise.
  • Exam-format revision tools: Chapter review questions closely reflect the QCE exam-format, Mathematical Methods questions are clearly labelled as tech-free or tech-assumed.
  • Exam generator: Teachers can create custom practice exams using previous QCAA questions plus additional QCAA-style questions with mark allocation and solutions.
  • Refined approach to suit the needs of each course: Content and topic sequencing are closely aligned to the new syllabus. Skills checklists now include sample questions and are available in all courses.

More of what you loved about the first edition:

  • An author team you trust, with unrivalled expertise in writing examples and problems that prepare students for external exams, now with additional consultant authors and reviewers with extensive classroom experience.
  • A proven teaching and learning formula well known to users of Cambridge textbooks: In General, Methods and Specialist Mathematics, logical and manageable topic development is combined with step-by-step worked examples, key point summaries, a focus on cognitive verbs and worked solutions for all exercises in the Interactive Textbook.
  • Innovative digital resources fully integrated with the print textbook allow for a flipped classroom approach, a powerful Learning Management System and independent learning opportunities.
