About the Workshops:
This workshop will focus on:
- An overview of VCE Units 1-4 of the new Study Design including advice, teaching and learning ideas and resources relevant to each dot point in the syllabus
- New areas of the course and advice on how to teach these concepts
- An outline to help teachers plan their course
- An overview of assessment requirements, as well as ideas and advice for developing tasks

About the Presenters:
Sonia Goodacre has taught VCE Health and Human Development since its inception and has worked with subject associations and other organisations to provide support for teachers. She is actively involved in providing professional development and has prepared a number of support materials and curriculum packages for VCE Health and Human Development. She also presents to students to assist them with their preparation for the exam. Sonia is currently employed as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Plenty Valley Christian College and over the past 18 years has taught in independent and government schools and in the TAFE sector. She has worked with the VCAA as an assessor and in the development of a VCE Health and Human Development Study Design.
Chrissy Collins is a passionate Health and Food teacher and an active member of professional bodies. She has written and presented numerous professional development sessions in Health and Home Economics, both locally and internationally with a focus on health, student motivation, exam preparation and success. An experienced exam marker, she has also co-authored Junior Health and Food Technology textbooks. Chrissy enjoys teaching both senior and junior students, developing their love of learning, passion for health and wellbeing and ensuring that students flourish and thrive.
Both Sonia and Chrissy have presented at the VCAA familiarisation sessions for the new study design (2018-2022).
