NSW teacher recognised for dedication to students

29 JANUARY 2019
World's Most Dedicated Teacher Awards 2019

Last year, Cambridge University Press put a call out to nominate the World’s Most Dedicated Teacher. NSW teacher, Candice Green from St Augustine’s College was nominated and recognised as teacher who goes above and beyond for her students. Below is what one of her students wrote:

“My mother suffers from Huntington’s disease and without the support [my teacher] offered me throughout the year, checking up on me and offering to bring food for dinner into class for my family, my Higher School Certificate (HSC) would have been near impossible to complete. Her dedication meant every class was meaningful and each student’s needs would be focused on and no one would be neglected. My class asked for constant help outside of the classroom with extra essays which were returned by Ms Green within minutes as she sacrificed her own personal time to help her students improve no matter what.”

Congratulations to all the teachers around the world who were nominated by their students or colleagues. The winner of the World’s Most Dedicated Teacher Award will be announced on January 31st. Check out all the entrants here.

To all the dedicated teachers throughout Australia, welcome back to the new school year.
